What Did You Do for National Garden Week?

Did you celebrate National Garden Week last week? National Garden Week is always the first full week of June, and it’s the perfect time to stretch your gardening skills and beautify your property. If you missed it—or didn’t know about it until just now—not to worry! The entire month of June is a great time to work in and improve your garden. Whether you’re a veteran gardener or finding out how green your thumbs are, you can find everything you need at Sunny Valley Farm! We have garden tools, flowers and green plants, statues, decor, and anything else you could want for your garden.

Here are a few ideas to add to your garden this month!

Plant something new.

If you’re typically a flower gardener, why not try your hand at cultivating a kitchen garden? There are plenty of vegetables that are easy to grow, including lettuce, beans, cucumbers, radishes, and arugula. You can grow everything you need for a salad! If you’d rather, you can also try an herb garden. Basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, rosemary, sage, and plenty of other herbs are pretty easy to grow.

Add decor or water features.

But what about the seasoned gardener who has already carefully selected the plants they want to grow? If this is you, transform your garden into a place you can sit in and enjoy rather than just look at. Add a bench or a swing, statues, a bird bath, or even a water feature. You worked hard to make your garden beautiful, and you deserve to enjoy it!

Refresh your garden tools and supplies.

When was the last time you bought yourself some new garden tools? Having a good set of basic tools will make all the difference. If nothing else, it’s worth spending a little extra on a trowel and a fork or any other tools you use a lot. We tend to get attached to our old tools, but you’ll be glad you upgraded to a new set!
